Updates to Our School

I wanted to fill you in on some new initiatives and projects that will be happening with our school.

Thanks to the expertise, and hours of commitment, from Joe Davis, we have a School Marketing Plan. Joe and I have been meeting on a regular basis, since October. Now that a plan has been developed, a marketing team is being formed, and will have its first meeting in March. We will keep you informed of our marketing activities. A couple of activities that we have going on now is, thanks to a school family, newly baptized infants are receiving a teddy bear, wearing a shirt saying “Future Bear” that also has our school crest. In addition, we are sending baptismal birthday cards, from the school,  to children who have been baptized within the past three years.

Our accreditation process is moving along. The team will be visiting our school on either April 27 or 28. We are finishing the process of compiling our evidence on meeting standards. The accreditation team will review this evidence before the visit.

We now have an added security feature at our school.  The doors that lead down our school hallway now have door closers. These door closers will ensure that those doors will close securely behind students, and not bang loudly when they close.

I have been meeting with Father Kevin about additional improvements. One of these is to automate our school library. Money raised from “Paddle-Up” at Saturday’s Spring Fling will help to get this off the ground. Additional improvements include updating the student computers in the library, and, to help with the aesthetics of our school, having the coat racks in the hallway professionally painted. Planning and developing timelines on these projects is underway now. I’ll update you as we proceed.

After we complete our accreditation process, we will begin revising the current technology plan. This plan was last revised in 2015. When we return from the summer, we will also begin the review of our current mission statement. It has been a few years since this has been done.

Next Thursday, I will provide you a synopsis of our latest NWEA testing. I will have great news to share with you.

Looking forward to seeing you at Spring Fling! Thank you for trusting us with your children!

Carl
