Knights of Columbus Awards

The Blessed Sacrament Knights of Columbus council recently held their Anniversary dinner at the parish social hall celebrating their 21st anniversary. Knights from our council, Assumption, and St. Brigid enjoyed a potluck dinner of dishes of Portugal. During the dinner, presentations were made to honor the “Knight of the Year” and “Family of the Year”. We are proud to announce that this year’s recipients are:

Knight of the Year

Mark Robertson: Mark has been a Knight for over 10 years and is a past Grand Knight of our council. He has been a hard-working and reliable member of the council since joining. Mark leads our Soup Supper and Soups to go events. He has also been very involved in the “Wood for Warmth” program benefiting cancer patients and needy people who heat with wood. He’s always there when we are cutting, splitting, and delivering the wood. You can also count on Mark to help with other projects that the Knights have like putting up and taking down Christmas lights around the church, the parish picnic, and dogs after mass. Mark also serves the parish as a Eucharistic Minister.

Family of the Year

Dave and Kathy Rupp: Dave has been a Knight for over 21 years. He is a founding member of our council and a past Grand Knight. Dave is the coordinator of our “Wood for Warmth” Program. He works with Midland County Emergency Assistance Group to get clients in need of wood for home heating. He organizes cutting, splitting and delivering wood to our clients. Dave is there to help with putting up and taking down Christmas lights around the church, the parish picnic, dogs after mass, and other projects. Dave and Kathy provide soups for the monthly Knight’s soup suppers. Kathy is a long-time member of the church choir.

Please join the Knights in congratulating Mark, Dave and Kathy for their service in 2025!
