Circle of Grace Materials

Home  /  Circle of Grace Materials

Dear families,

Your Faith Formation Team here at Blessed Sacrament is committed to your children’s safety and well-being, both spiritual and physical.  Providing a safe environment for them to grow and thrive as children of God is a part of that commitment.

Along with all parishes in the Diocese of Saginaw, we are providing a class period about the “Circle of Grace,” a child protection program designed by faith formation staff in the Diocese of Omaha.  This program replaces the “Child Lures” program previously used in the parochial schools in our diocese and supplements and reframes the “Safety” and “Social and Emotional Health” components of the nationally recognized Michigan Model for Health used in our local public schools.  This public school program teaches our students about how to recognize and respond to unsafe and abusive situations and about personal safety and healthy relationships.

The philosophy of the Circle of Grace program is to help children understand that they are created in God’s image and that they each have a “Circle of Grace,” a bubble that surrounds them and “holds their essence in mind, heart, soul, and sexuality.”

We will be providing this curriculum from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament.  If you are unable or do not wish to attend, or if you feel your child has had sufficient education in this matter in public or parochial school, please let us know whether you would like to submit an opt out form with the diocese or just be counted absent.  If you would like to submit an opt out form, you can print and sign the form linked below, or one will be printed for you at your next Faith Formation/Youth Ministry class.

A summary of the Circle of Grace materials is provided below.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Peace,
