Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

he Liturgy of the Word comes after the Introductory Rites at Mass and includes the readings, the Homily, the Creed, and the Prayer of the Faithful.  Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) takes the same components and interprets them into child-friendly language and themes.  The goal is for the children to “graduate” into Mass with an understanding of both the Sunday gospel and the underlying structure of the Mass.

See below for this year’s Children’s Liturgy of the Word calendar.

CLOW Calendar

Due to continued concerns about the COVID virus, we won’t be returning to face-to-face CLOW this year.  Instead, look for CLOW videos from Mrs. Cathcart on the weeks when we don’t have Faith Formation classes.  If you would like to participate in the videos as a reader, leading the creed response (“I do believe!”), leading the prayers of the faithful response (“Lord, hear our prayer”), or demonstrating the response to the gospel introduction with a photo, contact Mrs. Cathcart to find out how.  Watch your Elementary Faith Formation Flocknote on the dates below for a video link!
