Stewardship

The Call of Discipleship

In their pastoral letter on stewardship, the Bishops of the United States write:

“The Christian vocation is essentially a call to be a disciple of Jesus. Stewardship is part of that. Even more to the point, however, Christians are called to be good stewards of the personal vocations they receive. Each of us must discern, accept, and live out joyfully and generously the commitments, responsibilities, and roles to which God calls him or her.” (Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response, pg. 13)

As a parish community, we have responded to this call of discipleship by making stewardship a priority. In our parish mission statement we write:

“Empowered by the Eucharist we are made one in Christ. We work for justice, are stewards of all that is entrusted to us, and pray for the needs of the world.” (emphasis added)

To help each person responding to the call of discipleship, the parish provides various opportunities and ways through the sharing of our Time, Talent and Treasure. You can click on the following links to learn more about ways you can be a good disciple and steward of God’s gifts.

Volunteer & Enrichment Opportunities

Christian Stewardship is about the many gifts our gracious God has given us. It helps us to reflect upon our blessings; all we have that make up our treasure: families, friends, time, talents, skills, material possessions, and financial resources. As disciples of Jesus, we share all that we are and all that we have for the good of our family, our parish, the larger community and all creation.

We ask you to consider a new way of sharing your time and talent in parish ministry. The link below provides a current list of ministries that have opportunities for involvement.

We encourage all: children, teens and adults to review these opportunities and indicate your interest on the form. After you return the form, you will be contacted to discuss your interests and given more information to assist you in making a decision on whether the ministry is a good fit for you. If you already participate in a listed ministry and wish to continue, do not mark the line; this is for new interests only.

Additional forms are available in the church vestibules or the parish office. The Expression of Interest Form may be returned via the collection basket at weekend Mass, or directly to the parish office.

May we all grow in recognizing and sharing our gifts for the good of all.
