An Evening of Courage: Author Kathleen Osberger

May 6 at 6:30 pm

Join us for a powerful evening as we welcome author and former lay missionary Kathleen Osberger to discuss her gripping memoir, I Surrender: A Memoir of Chile’s Dictatorship, 1975.

When: May 6th | 6:30 PM
Where: The Parish Center

In 1975, at just 22 years old, Kathleen arrived in Santiago, Chile, to teach in a Catholic grade school. She soon discovered a dangerous secret: the religious women she lived with were actively sheltering dissidents fleeing the brutal Pinochet dictatorship. Her journey—from a recent graduate to someone forced to go on the run to protect the lives of the persecuted—is a profound testament to faith, resistance, and human rights.

Presented by the Blessed Sacrament Social Justice Committee, this event explores the intersection of Catholic Social Teaching and the fight for justice in the face of tyranny.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. We look forward to a lively Q&A session with the author.
