Living the Christmas Season

The Church celebrates Christmas not just for a day, but for a season. The Christmas Season extends from Christmas Day through the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, inviting us to linger with the mystery of Christ among us.

Here are a few Catholic resources to help you continue celebrating at home:

Scripture & Prayer

  • Read and pray with the Nativity stories (Luke 2:1–20, John 1:1–18)
  • Pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, especially the Nativity
  • Light your Advent wreath candles through Christmas Day as a sign of Christ’s light

Catholic Traditions

  • Celebrate feast days during the Christmas Season, including:
    • The Holy Family
    • Mary, Mother of God: January 1 – Mass at 8:30am)
    • The Epiphany of the Lord: Be sure to pick up your home blessing kit at any Mass the weekend of January 3/4

Come, Let Us Adore Him

As the angels proclaimed to the shepherds, “Today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord.” We hope you will join us as we gather to adore the newborn King and rejoice in the gift of Emmanuel.

We look forward to welcoming you this Christmas at Blessed Sacrament.
