Community Gathers for Annual Pet Blessing on October 1

On a picture-perfect autumn evening, more than 20 pets and their human companions gathered for our annual Pet Blessing event held on October 1. The celebration brought together dogs and cats for a time of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual connection.

Each pet received a special blessing, honoring the joy, comfort, and unconditional love they bring into our lives. The event served as a reminder of the deep bond between humans and animals, and the importance of caring for all of God’s creation.

As we celebrated our pets, we also embraced St. Francis’s call to stewardship—from the smallest of creatures to the largest of mountains.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this event a meaningful and memorable experience for our community.

Nurturing and cherishing creation is a command God gives not only at the beginning of history, but to each of us. It is part of his plan; it means causing the world to grow responsibly, transforming it so that it may be a garden, a habitable place for everyone. ~Pope Francis
