On the evening of Thursday October 16th, 80 people gathered to listen to Fr. Wayne Dziekan of the diocese of Gaylord speak about the immigration system, the path to citizenship and how to view the current environment through the lens of Catholic Social teaching.  He talked about the misuse of the label “criminal”, the lengthy, up to 30-year process to become legal and the cultural/social bias that is hindering understanding.   Attendees were able to ask questions and voice their concerns at the event.
